Scandi Straw Christmas Goat With Red Ribbon | Three Sizes

A true Scandinavian tradition to be enjoyed by everyone - 'Julebuk' Christmas Straw Goat.

Every year we bring out our Christmas goats, the smaller ones as table decoration and the larger will often be placed next to the Christmas tree or to decorate a corner of your home.

Hailing from Scandinavia, the origins of the Christmas goat are shrouded in mystery. Though it's known that it has been a festive tradition for many years, the exact origin of the tradition remains unknown. It is believed that the custom originated from an old Viking ritual of sacrificing a goat to the thunder God Thor's goats during the winter solstice in order to bring luck in the upcoming year.
